The Mater Misericordiae Hospital is a not-for-profit Catholic Mission Hospital in Nairobi.
Renowned for our quality in care and compassion, we take a holistic approach to healthcare that has been second to none for over 50 years.
The Registered Trustees, Sisters of Mercy, Kenya Province seek to appoint an experienced Chief Executive Officer, who shares and espouses the Mercy ethos and charism, to provide leadership, operational management and strategic direction to the organization.

The Hospital has a highly supportive and engaged Governing Council, a motivated and skilled multidisciplinary workforce and a proven track record of providing client centred services.

The successful applicant in this role will need to:

  • Ensure all organisational decision making and activities are performed in accordance with the highest standards of corporate governance;
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work under pressure while consistently delivering within strict time deadlines; an appreciation of values, and a high level of integrity.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly capable and honest leader to join this Christ-centred healthcare ministry of the Sisters of Mercy that has a 55-year history in Kenya.

The successful applicant must have:

Essential:
  • Academic preparation at Masters level MBA (preferably Health Management); MA; MPA; M.Sc.; MPH: M.H.Sc. or its equivalent from an accredited educational institution plus recognised health administration credentials;
  • Management experience with a proven track record in handling a large workforce
  • MĂ­nimum 10 years’ organizational and management experience in a similar position within the health sector;
  • An advance level of written and oral communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and build respect from staff and colleagues;
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Office and QuickBooks;
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development;
  • Strategic planning, project management and innovation skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practice of Ethical Conduct and Workplace Health and Safety;
  • Membership of a professional association.
Desirable
  • Post graduate qualifications in ethical management;
  • Leadership and Management Training;
  • Doctorate in relevant areas.

b. Clearance certificate from HELB;
c. Certificate of good conduct;
d. KRA Tax Compliance certificate;
e. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Clearance;
f. Credit Reference Bureau certificate;
g. Three (3) Testimonials (Academic, Professional and Faith based).
Successful candidates will undergo psychometric testing.
